Artist Kunal Debnath And His Artwork.

Today we are going to breathe in the the world of art through some Artwork done by Artist Kunal Debnath.

He completed Bachelor Of Visual Art (Major in Art History) from Government College of Art and Craft, Agartala. Now he is working as a freelancer artist.

His working practice

"Most of my work started from unconscious level, I never made any layout or preparatory Sketches. My work starts from an unconscious zone but gradually it turns into conscious zone. I love to use figures in my art work. Mostly I get references from queer and feminism and cultural sites. Nowadays, I am working on homosexuality and queer art inspired by one of my favourite Indian artists Bhuppen Kakkar, the way he expressed his orientation through his artwork that inspires me a lot. And as a follower of his artwork I am also trying to explore my orientation through my artwork. After that, to find an alternate to Canvas I stumbled upon stitching as another medium to express myself. I have been stitching for a while. The main reason to select stitching is that stitching is often categorised as women's work. To break the stereotype and change the point of view of society about this work I have chosen this medium."

"To find an alternate to Canvas I stumble upon stitching at another medium to express myself. I have been stitching for a while now and this piece this piece is one of the best work I could do. The main reason to select stitching is that stitching is often categorised as a woman's work. To break the stereotype and change the point of view of society about this work, I have chosen this medium."

"I have try to express my feelings through this Canvas, I believe that a male naked body is as beautiful, soft, complex as a female body. A male body also has certain attraction that hides in plain sight, the hairiness of a muscular figure multiplies the aesthetic of a male body. The nature can be easily interpreted through a male body. Thus, I have included cactus as a part of this piece. As I feel that like the Thorns of cactus male body also hides many sensation in it."
